December 2002 - ITSO Developers Toolkit Announced - Integrated Smartcard Technology Moves A Step Closer
Smartcard technology developers, Ecebs Limited, today announced the first development toolkit for manufacturers of terminals and systems wishing to incorporate ITSO technology in their products.
The Ecebs toolkit, called the IDK, makes adding the ITSO secure access module to manufacturers products simpler and aids the attainment of ITSO certification.
Commenting on the announcement, ITSO's General Manager, Peter Stoddart said: "The launch of the Ecebs toolkit is illustrative of the gathering momentum behind ITSO. The first ITSO secure access modules are to be delivered in a few weeks and the toolkit availability aids the development process enormously."
Ecebs Managing Director David Braddock explained "Whilst the ITSO environment is the first technology to address contactless smartcard interoperability in a comprehensive and open manner, the key components still have to be integrated into devices and systems. The IDK greatly eases the process and will bring integrated smartcard technology, and all the benefits to smartcard holders, a significant step closer."
