September 2006 - ALCO & Ecebs Announce Agreement - Leading Players cooperate to deliver world class consultancy

Ecebs and ALCO are delighted to announce that they have signed an agreement that will allow each organisation to benefit from the others core competencies when delivering services to their clients.

With a growing demand for smartcard schemes worldwide, there is a need to create more partnerships in the market so that specialist knowledge can be applied to client initiatives more quickly.  ALCO's well-established strategic consultancy and delivery capability can be enhanced by harnessing Ecebs considerable ITSO and security architecture expertise as well as providing access to Ecebs Multefile technology.

Multefile is Ecebs core product; smartcard middleware that allows post-issuance modification of applications, data, and security environments both on-card and in terminals and servers.  This enables card issuers to directly manage their card products and tailor the services exactly to the developing needs of the card holders.  Elements of Multefile are in use in the ITSO Security Management Service (ISMS), currently being provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland to ITSO.

Chris Oulds, co-founder of ALCO, says "We are now working on projects of increasing complexity all over the world and the ability to be able to call on Ecebs detailed technical knowledge in areas like key management and application environment management will enhance ALCO's total service proposition to our clients."

Mel Pashley, Sales Director of Ecebs, adds "ALCO have a justified reputation for excellence when it comes to providing advice and guidance in even the most complex of projects and they are just the kind of partner we need to exploit our considerable technical expertise and to bring Multefile to a wider market."

The ALCO Group, www.alco.eu.com  is an independent management consultancy working worldwide for clients in the private, public and voluntary sectors on issues relating to ICT and its implications for interacting with colleagues, suppliers, partners, customers and citizens.
