Smartcards on the Moving On Conference Agenda

Ecebs partners Merseytravel are hosting the next Moving On Conference in Liverpool, the European Capital of Culture 2008. The annual conference, supported by ITSO, ITS and Smartex and the Department for Transport, is taking place in St George's Hall on 16th-18th June 2008.

Ecebs would like to invite you to stand 10 to see a demonstration of Trainline Smart. It uses ITSO technology, the Government defined standard for nationally accepted smart card ticketing in the UK which is being rolled-out in stages across all UK rail and bus routes. Using Trainline Smart, tickets can be bought online or by mobile phone and downloaded onto customer’s smartcards. Tickets are then validated with an onboard reader.

Jeremy Acklam, Business Development Director of the Trainline will be speaking at the conference concerning joined up smartcard rail travel on Tuesday 17 June.

About the Moving On Conference

The Moving On Conference is one of the few events where those delivering transport services are able to join with local and national politicians and other key transport decision-makers to look at real problems and consider innovative solutions.

This year we will be looking at the key elements of Concessionary Travel, Smart Cards, Environment and the Disability Discrimination Act and how they impact on public transport policies and technologies.
