Health Cards

One of the most powerful uses of a Smartcard is in the field of Healthcare.

Being able to carry a secure card that holds, or gives access to, your medical records is an incredibly powerful tool in improving patient care.

By using Smartcards, medical professionals are able to access the patient data they need much more quickly and reliably than conventional paper file and document methods. This saves invaluable time and expense. Smartcards are particularly valuable in an emergency situation where a patient may not be able to communicate, but the Doctor quickly assimilates the patient's full medical circumstances.

Smartcards in Healthcare will eventually become an everyday part of our lives, and improve them greatly.

Ecebs have extensive experience of designing and building Healthcards which:

Provide secure access to patient records or
Carry the records on the card itself, backed up on a chosen system or
Any combination of both of the above, and
On any Smartcard technology platform - single or multi application and
Can link to one or more chosen clinical systems.

Local Authoritites

Smartcard technology is increasingly being used by local government. Smartcards assist in the transition to "joined up government" by empowering departments and individuals in a variety of areas. These include electronic voting, educational services, welfare systems, services such as school meals, transport and even care records. The opportunities, and benefits, are enormous.

Ecebs has particular expertise in the area. Our Multefile product enables local authorities to devise and manage their own systems and adapt them with changing requirements.

The power of Multefile and its open standard capability make it the ideal choice for Authorities wanting to progress national standards such as LASSeO and NSCP in the UK and similar initiatives overseas.
